Overprinted OS Maps

Landranger 1:50,000 Series Maps with Airspace and BBAC SA Data

These are the 'standard' maps for ballooning.  All maps which have BBAC SA data on them are  normally available from stock.  All other sheets are available, but some of the less popular areas,  which are not normally stocked, may be subject to a few days delivery delay.  See the Landranger price list page for current prices of maps which are normally available from stock.

Landranger 1:50,000 Series Maps with Airspace only

Of particular interest to non-balloonists are the Landranger series of maps, overprinted with all airspace information up to FL245.   These are all priced at a standard £9.00 each.  These maps can be laminated for a further £6.50 per map.

OS Select Maps with Airspace and BBAC SA Data

OS Select maps are based on the 1:50,000 Landranger maps and can be centred on any site you choose.  All you have to do is provide us with the location of the point you want the map centred on (preferably in the form SO900310) and let us do the rest.  The maps will be supplied overprinted with BBAC SA data and aeronautical information up to FL245.

The price of these maps depends on the amount of information on them but is normally in the range of £20 - £28 per map.

OS Select Maps with Airspace only

Again, of particular interest to non-balloonists are the OS Select maps with only the airspace  shown.  These are the same as above, but without the BBAC SA data.  These are all priced at £20.

Touring Maps, Various Scales

These maps, at various scales including the old 1 inch:1 mile scale, generally depict a bigger area  than the Landranger series, and so are more suited to those aviators who fly a bit farther than the  average balloonist.  These maps can be overprinted with airspace and BBAC SA data, and can also be  customised further if required.  These maps are only produced for a few selected areas and not all of  these are available from Aerostationery yet.  See the price list page for current prices and  availability.

Outdoor Leisure and Pathfinder/Explorer 1:25,000 Series Maps

For those who wish to work at a bigger scale, the Pathfinder and Explorer series (the Pathfinder  maps are being phased out in favour of the Explorer series) at 1:25,000 scale can also be overprinted  with any information required.  Likewise the Outdoor Leisure series, which generally cover National  Parks and tourist areas.  Currently none of these maps are offered as standard overprinted products,  but please contact us for further information if you would like any of these maps.

Travelmaster 1:250,000 Series Maps

We are currently investigating overprinting airspace information on this series of maps.  Although  they are the same scale as the 1/4 million airspace charts, some people prefer their presentation  and the areas they cover.  We will also be able to print all airspace information on them, rather than  only up to 5,000'.  Please watch this space, or contact us for further information.

Blank Maps

OS Landranger 1:50 000 series maps

We can supply the standard OS Landranger series maps, priced at £6.50 each, with no postage or delivery charges.  We can either supply these folded, in the usual red covers, or flat (rolled in a tube for delivery) - ideal for presentation or wall hanging.  We don't carry the complete range in stock, although they can be got in within a few days, so please contact us for availability.  These maps can also be laminated, of course - see below for further details.

OS Select 1:50 000 maps

We can supply OS Select maps, which are based on the 1:50 000 Landranger series, but centred on any point you choose.  Specify the centre point required, in the form SO900310, or contact us to discuss the best point to centre the map on.

Other Ordnance Survey maps

We have a limited supply of other OS maps in stock, but can source any at a few days notice.  Please contact us for more information.

Update Service

To keep your overprinted Landranger maps fully up to date with changing BBAC SA data, we offer an update service where we can send you self adhesive update stickers for any of your maps.  See the separate Updates page for full details.

Airmaps

We can supply ICAO half million and quarter million aircharts.  Don't get caught out with an out of date map.  We can also provide a subscription service, whereby we will supply the latest maps you want as soon as they are published.  See the Airmaps page for full details.

Options, Pricing, Delivery, etc

Map Availability

All Landranger maps which have BBAC SA information on them are available from stock.  Maps  without SA information, but with airspace, are also available, but not all are available from stock.  A  limited range of other OS maps are held in stock.   Please contact us for price and delivery.

Maps which are in stock can usually be despatched by the following working day.  Maps which are  not in stock may be ordered specially and will usually take a week longer. 

However, please also see the Service Availability page for details of when our service may not be  available or there may be extra delays.  This is usually the case on occasions  during the summer  when we are away at ballooning events.  We try to ensure that these times are always  notified on  this site.

Customisation

All maps may be individually customised to order.  Examples are no SA data shown; no airspace shown; airspace only up to a specified altitude; thicker lines for SA data; additional data on maps.    The additional cost depends on complexity of changes (and could be zero).   Contact us for details.

Flat or Folded

Generally, flat maps are used for overprinting.  The finished map is then normally supplied as a flat map, delivered rolled in a postal tube.  This allows the customer to subsequently laminate the map themselves or to fold it how they wish.  However, folding maps can be a bit of an art, so we can supply them folded for you.  Please remember to specify when ordering.

Lamination

We have now taken delivery of a brand new encapsulation machine which means that we can now offer all maps laminated flat at the same price that we used to offer them folded.  The film is now only 35 micron thick so the finished encapsulated map is much softer than previously available and is therefore much easier to fold.

This costs £6.50 per map.

Overlays

The overprinted information (SA Data and Airspace or any combination of the two) may also be produced onto clear film or tracing paper.  This is ideal for use at balloon meets, where other maps need to be checked for accuracy against the definitive data.

Pricing

Prices for overprinted maps have been calculated on the complexity of the information to be overprinted.  These  currently range from £9.50 to £19.50 for Landranger maps.

We are not VAT registered, so there is no VAT on any of our quoted prices.

Delivery, Post & Packaging charges.

Rather than have a single 'one size fits all' charge for delivery, we have tailored our P&P charges according to what is being sent and how it is packed.  Maps are normally despatched by first class post.  Charges start from £1.25 for a single folded OS map. Overnight recorded delivery service is also available for an extra charge.

Ordering

Orders may be placed by phone, email or fax.  Please phone or email to check stock and arrange account facilities before placing an order.

Payment

Maps are usually despatched on an account basis, with an accompanying invoice.   Payments are requested within 14 days.  Alternatively, payments may be sent with the order (don't forget the postage!).  Cheques should be made payable to Lindsay Muir.  Unfortunately, we are currently unable to accept credit cards.  Used £5 notes are always welcomed, though!
